Our Events

Our organization has been dedicated to promoting cultural exchange, leadership development, and community engagement, particularly within the Moroccan-American community. Over the years, we have successfully hosted high-profile cultural events, such as Celebrate Morocco!, bringing together renowned Moroccan artists and public figures to showcase Morocco’s rich heritage. We have also led impactful initiatives like the annual Moroccan Heritage Car Rally, uniting the community in solidarity and celebration of the Green March.

Currently, we are expanding our efforts through programs like Leaders of Tomorrow: A Cross-Cultural Leadership Experience, which will take students to Morocco for an immersive learning experience. Through these programs, we continue to build meaningful connections and create transformative opportunities for young leaders.

Leaders of Tomorrow: A Cross-Cultural Leadership Experience

June 15-29, 2025

The Leaders of Tomorrow program is a transformative two-week leadership and cultural immersion experience designed for college-bound and college students. It aims to inspire future Moroccan American leaders by connecting them with their Moroccan culture while equipping them with essential leadership skills for personal and professional growth. Participants will explore Morocco's rich history, culture, and modern advancements through curated workshops, networking opportunities, and cultural experiences across several iconic cities. We are currently planning to take NINE outstanding students on this transformative journey. In addition to our students, we are also hosting The Nyah Project, a nonprofit leadership development organization dedicated to empowering youth through impactful travel experiences. Their program includes 12 students and 5 adult mentors, bringing our total group size to over 30 travelers. We are hoping to expand the opportunity to more participants. Our goal is to make this experience accessible to as many deserving students as possible.

Celebrate Morocco!

November 2024

On November 16th & 17th of 2024, the Moroccan American Cultural Society of Florida proudly hosted Celebrate Morocco! a two-day celebration in Orlando, FL, honoring the historical and cultural significance of the Green March and Moroccan Independence. This event was designed to bring together the Moroccan diaspora, their allies, and cultural enthusiasts from across the globe to commemorate Morocco’s rich heritage, unity, and resilience. The first day of the celebration, held at the Rosen Plaza Hotel, featured a spectacular evening that blended tradition with modernity. The second day carried the celebration into the streets of Orlando with our 5th Annual Moroccan Heritage Car Rally, a moving display of pride and community spirit. Together, these events served not only as a tribute to Morocco’s historical milestones but also as a platform to connect generations of the Moroccans and their supporters. This celebration was more than an event; it was a meaningful statement of pride and belonging, uniting over 1000 attendees and participants from across the United States and around the world.

Moroccan Heritage Car Rally

December 2020, November 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, & Upcoming 2025

The first iteration of this event was the Drive for Peace in December of 2020. The founder of the Moroccan American Cultural Society of Florida, Mr. Samir Fkiyi, came up with the idea as a way to honor and support the Moroccan people abroad who were maintaining the peace during the conflicts in the Moroccan Sahara. Because of the pandemic, he wanted to think of a way for all Moroccans in Central Florida to gather, but to do so safely. The idea of staying in our cars and driving the streets like a parade was created! The success of that event inspired others to organize their own drives, which Mr. Fkiyi helped plan the rallies in Washington D.C. and Arkansas. The Drive for Peace in Washington D.C. caught the attention of major news networks in Morocco, including 2M, which broadcasted a seven minute segment on the event, and interviewed many participants and organizers, including Mr. Fkiyi. The 2nd Drive for Peace was held in November 2021. Our 2022, 2023, & 2024 events were also featured on the Moroccan National News networks 2M, SNRT News, and Medi1 TV.

Interfaith Ramadan Iftar

March 2025

On March 22, 2025, we successfully hosted our first Interfaith Iftar in Orlando, Florida. This special gathering brought together a diverse group of attendees, including community leaders, business professionals, and guests from various cultural and religious backgrounds. The event’s primary objective was to promote cultural understanding by sharing the spirit of Ramadan with both Muslims and non-Muslims. Guests were welcomed with traditional Moroccan hospitality enjoying an authentic iftar meal. Beyond the shared meal, the evening was enriched with meaningful discussions about the significance of Ramadan, its values of compassion, generosity, and self-reflection, and how it serves as a bridge for cultural exchange.
